Things I'm loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

1.  Loving the best announcement of the week.

2. Loving my best friend. Who has been a bit sick with Gastro this week but is feeling heaps better now.  It's amazing how important poo becomes when you are a mum.

3. Loving this equation.  Shakespeare the Cat + Cowboy hat = tears rolling down my face.
4. Love my photo blocks from onblocks.co.nz

5. Looooove whittaker's hokey pokey!

Things I'm loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

1.  I had to put this first. I love that Little Miss was so thoughtful as to have a nap on this lovely Friday afternoon so that I could write this post as I was wondering when I was going to get a chance to do it!

2. LOVE this movie.  Mr. Man and I managed to get out last night to see it (booked our tickets a couple of weeks ago).  I say manged because I have been up to my neck in sickness all week and it's been 6 months since we actually got to go out, by ourselves. Woo hoo!  Had a lovely dinner and was nice to spend some time.  Oh and the movie was wonderful!

3. Loving my favourite person's new little hoodie.

4. Love the purchase of these two books, aaaaaand that the book box this week has another in the same series - 'Wheels on the bus'.  Those people know how to hook a woman like me don't they? Collection it up and I'm there!

5. Loving getting to see all the fabulous learning that our little lady does at daycare.  No wonder she's so tired when she comes home.  She has fabulous days!

6. Love how technology enabled me to see just what my class was up to while I was away sick...even if it was a tad strange.  See what they were up to here.

What are you loving this week?

Things I'm loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

1.  This week was my second ever trip to the Photographic society meetings.  Last time I entered a photo of Leah into the set subject of portraits and only got a merit.  This month, a subject I was a little scared by and really didn't inspire me much was Machinery. But, I'm all for learning so went and took a few snaps at Wheels and Wings show in Ardmore when hubby was showing his car.....and this month for my selected 3 photos I entered I got 2 highly commended ratings AND an honours! Shock horror.  Here are the pics.

Honours

Highly Commended

2. Sticking with the photography theme I am supremely happy with the outcome of a little photo session we did with Leah last Saturday.  I suggested getting out some pots and pans and the wooden spoon.  Daddy had other ideas.

3.  Gala at work last Saturday was super fun! Our support team of wonderful parents at work do an AMAZING job with this every year.  I got dunked on the dunking machine this year and it was extreeeeeeeeemely cold!

4.  Loving that it's Friday.  Hubby home after a week away = SUPER YAY!

Chilli Con Carne

Nice and simple.  We like nice and simple around here at the moment!

Chilli Con Carne
1 onion finely grated
1 clove garlic
1T olive oil
500g lean mince
Salsa dip, 1 jar
Three bean mix (pictured does not have this - bleuk!)
1 capsicum, finely chopped
3/4 cup beef stock
Salt and pepper to taste

1.  Gently fry the onion and garlic in the olive oil until softened.

2. Add the mince and cook until browned.

3.  Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 40 minutes.

Can be served with pasta or nachoes.  Lovely with sour cream or guacamole and plenty of grated cheese :).

Things I'm loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

1.  I suppose I'm loving this...
I'll qualify the 'suppose'. When this was pitched to me, Westpac called and asked if we'd like to be in  he courier, that the courier would call in the next few days and come to interview/take photos etc.  They didn't, all they put in the courier was this... which is fine (would have liked a photo of the bubs, but oh well).  What kinda ticks me off is that the courier never actually got in touch with us directly. I didn't OK for them to use Leah's whole name in the article.  I'm happy the story was run, just not happy with how things went.  Boo Papakura Courier, shame on you. Little do you know, it's your loss that this beautiful bubba doesn't have a photo in your publication :P.

2. Speaking of the beautiful girl.  Looks who's almost crawling...and my loving?  I'm loving the fact that she's holding out on actual forward movement for at least a little while more (it looks like she will crawl more and more each day!).  Mummy doesn't think she can handle an efficient mover yet.  She's efficient enough in the walker and on her belly...backwards.

3. Loving Monday night trips to the beach.  Jake had a wonderful swim and LOTS of compliments from a lady who lives by our beach spot who we've seen owns Rotties.  Told us he's near perfect. *proud* We're lucky we got there with the crazy driver we had...she fell asleep on the way home!  That's no way to drive!

4.  Loving sleepy arms <3

We're still ticking along...

Haven't felt like posting (except for the things I'm loving every Friday that never gets left off) for a little bit.  But don't fret!  Things have been happening in my neck of the woods.

Still cranking along with the 101 challenges; the ones that take a little longer to achieve that is.
Here is another recipe that I've made from the cookbook that I'm making everything from.

Crisp Chicken.
So easy I'm not even going to include a  ingredient list.  Cut chicken into medium sized pieces (bit bigger than a bite), coat with flour, coat with egg (whisked) and pop in the pan.  Cook until golden brown.  DONE. And yummy, got the thumbs up from the husband.  Gotta love a cook book that's titled "on the table in 20 minutes"!

Something else I've also done on the recipe front is make some left over, about to be chucked out, ice-cream and zhuzh up and it's subsequently been eaten.  I think the photos say it all!

AND I got to tick another thing off my 101 list: Have a picnic.
In things I'm loving last week I talked about our trip to Long Bay for our family picnic. We do this every year but I made sure I took a few photos to show that it is a real picnic for my little family - club sammies, muffins and even a pic-i-nic basket! Woo hoo!

Things I'm loving...

1) LOVE this blog. http://www.fatmumslim.com.au/

2) Loving that the NRL is back on for 2012 and that we've purchased SKY this year and can watch all games from the comfort of our couch! GO THE WARRIORS!

3) Loving the little surprise I got last Friday after I wrote my loving list.  I'll keep it as a surprise until I can reveal the whole thing but it has to do with this. Leah is #103.

4) Loving our day at the beach on Sunday.  Glad the sun finally came out and was proud to see the little girl dip her toes in the water...even if it was just for a few seconds before the tears came.  Was a bit cold I'm afraid!

5) Loving the joy melted icecream + 2 bags of lollies + a block of chocolate and 3 hours in the freezer can bring.  YUM!
